Pakistan’s foreign ministry termed the news of disharmony and sabotage in the gurdwara as false and said that the incident after communicating between two Muslim groups at the tea shop was communally colored.

Contrary to this claim of Pakistan, the Sikh community of Nankana Sahib said that there is still a very tense atmosphere there.Chaman Singh, who lives near the gurudwara, said that Sikhs were not allowed to do city kirtan on Saturday as well. In view of Friday’s stone-pelting, most people of the Sikh community decided to stay in their homes. People from other countries also remained imprisoned in the inn for the darshan of this gurudwara built at the birthplace of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.Though the text was read in the morning, but fewer people reached the gurudwara. Daily opening shops were also closed. The light of 10th Guru Gobind Singh ji is to be celebrated on Sunday, but a heavy police force is stationed outside the gurdwara.

Demonstrations were held near the Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi on Saturday against the siege and stone pelting of Nankana Sahib Gurdwara. In other parts of the country too, people of Sikh community came out on the road to express their anger. Everyone has been demanding that the Pakistan government arrest those involved in the attack. The Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee announced that a 4-member team would go to Pakistan to investigate the incident and meet the CM and Governor of Punjab province along with the victims’ families.
